Neonatal Nurse Professional Certification NNC Exam Details, Study Guide and Flash Cards

The Neonatal Nurse Professional Certification NNC program falls under the certification authority of the National Certification Corporation NCC. NCC was established in 1975 and has certified over 75,000 nurses in various fields of nursing. The NNC exams are administered by Applied Measurement Professionals AMP

Registration

Candidates for the computer based NNC exams can download application forms from the NCC website and mail it along wit necessary documents and fees to NCC P O Box 11082, Chicago, IL 60611
Eligible candidates will receive a letter of eligibility within 4 weeks of application. Letters are sent on business days on the 15th and last day of each month
Eligible candidates will have a 90 day window to schedule a computer based exam on the AMP website or by calling AMP
Candidates for the paper and pencil NNC exams can apply by downloading and application forms at the NCC website
Completed forms, documents and forms should be mailed via US post to NCC P O Box 11082, Chicago, IL 60611
Candidates cannot apply individually but must apply as a group with a minimum of 6 candidates<
Successful applicants will receive a letter of notification within 4 weeks along with a guide book with necessary information
An admission ticket will be mailed to eligible candidates about 2 weeks before the exam date
The computer based exams can be applied for any time of the year while the paper and pencil exam is only written one day of the year
The exam date for the paper pencil exam is September 25th 2009 while the deadline date is July 10th 2009



Eligibility


Candidates must posses a valid nursing license in the US or Canada
Candidates must have completed a nursing preparation educational program for neonatal nurses. The program should award either a Post Master or Master Degree or DNP level
The program must meet NCC standards and should be accredited by either CCNE or NLNEC
Candidates must have graduated in 2005 or later dates



Fees


The applicable fee for the NNC exam is $300 for the computer based exam and $250 for the paper and pencil exams
Fees must be paid via checks or American Express, MasterCard and Visa credit cards along with all applications



Format


Candidates for the NNC exam have an option for either the paper and pencil exam or computer based exams
The exam is made up of 175 questions set in the multiple choice format
The exam is timed for 3 hours
Candidates for the computer based exam will receive a Pass or Fail report immediately after exam. A written results is mailed to the candidate within 21 days after the exam
Candidates for the paper and pencil exam will receive their results within 6 weeks after the exam
