 Studying for the National Board For Certification Of Orthopedic Physicians Assistants (NBCOPA) ?
The Orthopedic Physician Assistants certification exams are organized and administered by the National Board for Certification of Orthopedic Physician Assistants (NBCOPA). The exams are conducted for NBCOPA by PSI Laser Grade testing corporation
Eligibility
• Candidates are recommended to have spent a minimum of 2 years working in college sciences before taking the exam (not mandated)
• Candidates must have completed an education program in orthopedic physician assistant, nurse practitioner or primary care physician assistant programs
• Or, candidates must have completed a relevant allied health care program and acquired at least 5 years orthopedic work related experience that includes surgical assisting, immobilization techniques, physical assessment and history under supervision of a certified orthopedic surgeon

• Musculoskeletal Conditions 30%
• Anatomy and Physiology 15%
• Treatment of Musculoskeletal Conditions 35%
• Orthopaedic History and Physical Examination 10%
• Imaging and Laboratory Studies 10%
Exam Structure
• The exam is computer based with 250 multiple choice questions
• The exam is timed for 4 hours

The exam application fee is $400 for ASOPA members and $475 for non-members
