Registration
- Candidates can download application forms and the exam information handbook at the INCC website
- Completed forms, relevant documents and payment should be mailed to INCC, 315 Norwood Park South, Norwood, MA 02062
- The CRNI is taken weekdays during the months of March and September in over 150 assessment centers across the country
- There are both morning and afternoon appointments
Exam Fees
Exam fee for the CRNI exam is $285 for INS (Infusion Nurse Society) members and $410 for non-members.
Candidates may choose to pay $375 to join INS and take the CRNI exam
Exam Format
The CRNI examination is a computer based test consisting of 170 questions
The exam is timed for 3 hours

- Infection Control - 13%
- Technology and Clinical Applications - 25%
- Fluid and Electrolyte Balance - 13 .3%
- Pediatrics - 5 .3%
- Transfusion Therapy - 5 .3%
- Performance Improvement - 6 .6%
- Antineoplastic/Biologic Therapy - 10 .6%
- Parenteral Nutrition - 6 .6%
Other Information
- The CRNI certification is valid for 3 years
- Candidates have an option of recertifying by taking the CRNI exam again or by meeting the recertification requirements
- Candidates who acquired a minimum of 1000 working hours as Infusion Nurses qualify for recertification
- The CRNI certification becomes effective April 1st for candidates who were successful in March examination and October 1st for those who successfully passed the September examination
