Need help Studying for the Adult Health Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)?

   •  Candidates must posses a valid RN license from the US or a recognized equivalent from another country
   •  Candidates must posses a clinical nurse specialist master's, post masters or doctorate degree from an adult health program.
   •  The program must be accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)
   •  Candidates must have acquired a minimum of at least 500 clinical hours supervised by the faculty in an Adult Health clinical nurse specialist program that includes work in advanced health assessment, advanced pharmacology and advanced pathophysiology

   •  Candidates can register online on the ANCC website
   •  Or, candidates can download the application forms and mail completed forms, documents and payment to:

   •  Nursing Science 41.30% 62 questions
   •  Organization/Network/Health System 15.30% 23 questions
   •  Basic and Applied Science 10.70% 16 questions

   •  Professional Attributes 14% 21 questions

   •  The exam is a computer based test with 175 questions
   •  Only 150 of these questions are scored, as 25 are pre-test questions

   •  Application fee is $270 for ANCC members and $390 for non-members
