Registration
Candidates can download a copy of the registration forms from the AANN website along with the examination 2009 information handbook

Candidates whose applications are successful will receive an exam admission letter by mail.
The CNRN exam can be taken as a paper-pencil exam or as a computer based test. The paper-pencil is taken only two times a year.
Candidates who wish to take a computer based exam should register for an exam at the Iso-Quality Testing, Inc. website.
The computer based test is held in 200 exam centers around the US and Canada.
Eligibility
Candidates must be a nurse with a valid registered license in Canada, United States or any of the US territories. English speaking candidates from other countries with an equivalent license may be considered.
Candidate must be a registered professional nurse actively engaged as neuroscience clinical nurse, or as an educator, consultant, administrator or researcher who has acquired a minimum of 2 years or 4,160 hours of indirect or direct neuroscience nursing practice within the last 5 years.
Exam Fees
AANN members the cost is $250 and $335 for non-members. To register and join AANN, the annual fee is $348
Exam Format
Paper-pencil and computer based CNRN exams are made up of 220 multiple-choice questions.
200 questions are used to calculate your score, with 20 questions as pre-test questions that do not count toward the final score.

Other information
Candidates must bring the exam admission letter to the exam center. Candidates who are yet to receive this letter 14 days before the exam should contact ABNN at 888-557-2266
Candidates should also bring ID with a photo and signature. The IDs will be held during the exam and returned to the candidate after the exam
Candidates who are taking the paper-pencil test should come with pencils and erasers
Candidates will receive exam results via mail indicating a pass or fail within 9 weeks after the exam.
A minimum of 5 candidates can request an additional exam center be established for a fee. To apply for an Exam Site, fill in the "Application to be an Independent Testing Site for the 2009 CNRN Exam” form on the AANN website
