Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CIBC) Study Help, Study Guide and Practice Test
The CIBC is administered by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. Certification lasts for 5 years and is recommended for all infection control professionals.

Registration
Must meet the following requirements:
Current license or registration as a medical technologist or clinical laboratory scientist, physician or registered nurse or have a minimum of a baccalaureate degree.
Actual practice in the field.
Complete the online application.
If an applicant registers by 3pm Central Time, they have the option of testing the following business day. Applicants registering after 3pm will have to wait two business days.
Exam Fees
First time certification exams or lapsed certifications require a fee of $310. Renewal certifications have fees of $275. If you choose to take your exam at an international location, an additional fee of $35 is assessed. Fees must accompany application. No refunds are offered to those choosing to cancel the applications. Applicants have the option of rescheduling one time without incurring additional fees.
Exam Format
Exam consists of multiple choice questions.
Exam is computer based
Applicants have 3 hours to complete the exam.
A practice exam is offered before the actual times exam.
Test takers have the option of leaving comments during the exam on questions.

Other Information
Applicants can retake exam once every 90 days but no more than 4 times per year.
Applicants must pay full fees to retake the exam.
CBIC reserves the right to revoke certification if an applicant is caught cheating.
