What Nursing Jobs Are Available Outside Hospitals?
Most people think of being a nurse in a hospital but there are actually many other places where you can have a fulfilling job as a nurse. It all depends on the type of nurse you want to be and sometimes it depends on your personality or your schedule – but whatever it is here are some interesting nursing jobs outside a hospital:
- Occupational nurses work in private companies that normally have more than two hundred employees and often have a factory or manufacturing facility where the chance of occupational accidents or illnesses might be more prevalent.
- School nurse - work for one school or a school system where they rotate throughout the system on different days.

- Substance abuse nurses generally work in rehabilitation or detoxification clinics or hospitals and provide help to patients to assist them in healing their addictions.
